TRINIDAD COLORADO

Trinidad has a population of around 9,000, with an elevation of 6,025 feet.  Trinidad is on the Purgatoire River and on the east side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Trinidad (Gateway to the Rockies) is an old mining town with lots of colorful history and is located on the Santa Fe Trail.  One of the most scenic drives in Colorado is the Hwy. of Legends from Trinidad to Cuchara on Hwy. 12.  Trindad's air service is an asphalt runway approximately 9,000 ft.  with hangar and tie-down service.  There are 14 motels, one 75-bed hospital, a nursing home of 233 beds, and 14 churches.  Safeway is a major grocery chain, there are numerous small unique shops, and a Wal-Mart store. 


Real Estate Activity:  Real estate activity in the southern colorado seems to be stable.  This is the perfect time to get a hold of a great property.  Southern Colorado Real Estate in the las Animas county area has much to offer.  There are currently 145 residental properties, 202 land/ acrage properties, 38 Farm/Ranch, and 38 commercial properties for sale.

Over 1,700 home sites are planned in the Cougar Canyon development east of Trinidad  A brand new golf course is also being built.  August of  2007 is the planned opening of the golf course.

Cougar Canyon is a master planned community surrounding an 18-Hole championship Nicklaus design golf course (appropriately named The Links at Cougar Canyon). The project is located to the east of the Pinion Terrace sub-division on the eastern end of town just behind the Movie Picture Showhouse. It consists of about 1500 acres and, when finished, will contain 1729 home sites.
